Wharfedale Diamond Pro 8.2 Actives

I've read all the posts on these, and they seem like a great deal and value. If you look at the dimensions though, they seem pretty large for a desktop situation. I think they're about 14" high and 12" deep. Anyone use these with a home DAW setup? How would they do in "close quarters"? I know they're near field, but in my very humble set up they'd be just about 34" away. Think they would be too big?

Mine are just that distance from my head, and from each other. Just about right, from all I've read. You need to have them up off the desk though, on stands or something so they are level with your head. They are just about the same size as most other nearfields.
