You might try it in a little music shop somewhere on the country side... But then they'll prolly be overpriced... Buy a used one or a newer machine...

I did a blind test comparing the VS880EX to the VS890HD and could hear no difference. Just thought I'd mention that.

Well he didn't mention the 890 but...

Interesting. Especially because the 890 includes upgraded 24 bit converters whereas the 880EX only had 20 bit converters.

It could be possible that you listened to recordings recorded in one of the compressed modes which may have masked the improvements in the converters. Also, there may have been other weaker links in the signal chain masking the converter differences.

Be that as it may, at least that answers the question that videodrone can get the same quality recordings with the newer equipment.
