After getting sort of serious about home recording, I bought a $200 audio interface. One small problem: I can't get it to record in stereo. I have the toggleswitch put to "stereo" so I dunno whats up. Help?

I'm going to take a wild guess here...
You set it to "stereo" and the sound is only coming out of one side.
That's how it works. One is one. One will never equal two (unless you have two sources). STEREO is the DIFFERENCE between left and right (or "one and two").
