10% more than you're paying for it!

If it comes out LESS than you're paying for it, the bank wont finance the overage.

...what a racket...I predict it will come in as you say...heh, heh...

...well what do you know it came in "well above" what we needed...

hey that's funny, we're also waiting for our appraisal .... if all goes well closing should not be later than july 15.
can't wait!

Good for you.
When do you close?

...maybe as soon as next Friday...we have to call the banker who said give her the word and close in 7 days...we would like to get it up by Sept. 1 if possible...let the fiery hoops ignite...

...yup, 4PM on the 20th it is...

...time to buy a couple of books on design, methinks...it appears as though the control room must have sonic properties in shape and materials much like a speaker cab in order to get at the truth...right?...

...bizarre sort of octagon...by the way, what do the little circles with the x's in them mean as well as the dashed curvey lines running between them?....

...well, everythings on track financially and we're rounding up sub-contractors hoping to be in by Sept.-Oct.-

...I think I am leaning right now towards an iso vocal booth and one big live room where I can sit amongst the folks with my DAW...

...or maybe iso control AND vocal booth-in-one and the big live room which can be the drum room when others are not present...

The idea in a control room is to have symmertry, but no parallel walls.
Walls that are 12 degrees off axis from parallel seems to be the consensus of many learned professional studio desigeners as the minimum angle for proper control room acoustics.

The circles with "x's" in them are lights, and the curvy lines between are electrical conduit runs.

The drawing is from a studio I designed for myself (with the help of John Sayer's and a few well respected members of this BBS) that is currently under construction.

...very impressive indeed, MJ, and after giving it some thought I think I'm going to go with something less expensive and learn this craft-then, after I am confident enough to try and make some money at it I can build a dedicated building incorporating all the great concepts you're employing...it's shaping up right now to be a big live room and maybe iso control and iso vocal...I did print out your plans and took the virtual tour and your place is looking like a thing of beauty...
