we don't need rest!!
to show I am the jack of all, master of none...
and of course seeking comments on anything that might come to mind.
This is the first track off a CD I did and thinking about remixing, now that I have listened to it a bit now...so ....

this music is for bedtime, headphones, background for reading, sex...etc, etc..

Disclaimer:

1. this is not technically challenging music by any means
2. on its own, it may be rather boring.
3. this IS background, relaxation music...or the that's the target
4. If this has any similarities to anything real...that's ok..if not..that's ok too. (like instruments, etc)
5. the end of the mp3 cuts off because it fades into track 02 on the CD I did, and I was too lazy to edit the fade for this mp3. You can kinda tell it starts to go into a different direction, (I think) at the end.

Track 01 Destinations (song #6 on the list)
at Waldos......

Very nice & sounds great. I can definitely see a use for this music. Great for relaxing. A keeper for me :D (I need to relax a bit)

mix,

This is beautifull!!

Next time you might want to shut the window when your tracking, some birds go on the recording.

Really mellow!!

GT

nice background music.. were the bird sounds added after, or were they part of the patch? maybe like aftertouch? When it cuts off at the end, it sounds like it's going into an 'Enigma' tune.. pretty cool mix.. Let's hear the next track!

D@mmit#2! My Company's firewall is preventing me from accessing link!!!
Mxmkr, I'll give it a shout-out and a listen when I get home!

very cool sounds.....too soft and pretty for me to relax to though....gimme some sweet distortion with loads of delay, spandex and mousse....ah....

would make a great CD opener, ala Van Halen 1984.......

damn...I actually couldn't agree more... in some aspects.. and Van Halen.. phew!! you're knockin' right down my alley, buster!!!

jag, CT and sabb...thanks for the listen...

sabb..you DO KNOW what background music is...eh?:p

Q...your solution...quit your job, become famous...make music!!

I would personally like to thank Mother Nature, God, or some guy named Kevin...whatever...for the gift of marijuana.

Actually this is beautiful man.

I'm going to play around with wordless vocal ideas over this...whether you let me or not. :)

You know crank the verb in real-time and go. I was in a 20x30' room I've been building today, and we just finished laying down the hard-wood floor. For about 25 minutes this morning I was alone in the house and I got to sing in that room. Holy shit. You can not beat that natural reverb with any plug-in or box ever ever ever. It was so sweet...

Don't know why the rant, other than I know you love verb :)
(It was seriously nice verb.)

So anyway, I picture you, whatever the hell you look like, getting up in the middle of the night to record this because you don't want to lose the melody. And it was a good decision, because it is very very cool. I think maybe Friday to warm up I'm gonna record some wordless vocals over this. Thanks...

What did you do differently this time around? "Less-synthetic" is the feeling I'm getting here. Very "warm"... (most overused word in recording EVER)... but it applies.

Not quite Beethoven's "Pastoral"... but in a similar vein. A GREAT "Track #1" for a CD as a type of lead-in... to a full-on song.

Honest and innocent... just like we like em

that would be waaay cool.

I do love the reverb too. I onced worked in a studio with a reverb chamber, and it was pretty neat..but it actually sounded more like a huge bathroom. It has a nice long decay, but was hard to get a warm sound out of it. We'd always EQ it to death. When the [inexpensive]digital reverbs first came out, (we got a bunch of Alesis' Xtic's) we stopped using it, because it was "old style"...hhmmm

oh...

"So anyway, I picture you, whatever the hell you look like..."

here's the goofy pic off the CD cover. You laugh at me looking like I got a stick up my ass, or looking at some airplane, I'll smack you thru my monitor....here? Go check the Harris thread on pics too..btw. I believe I've only seen you holding fish or something like that!!

mixmkr, making mixes.

Pretty cool. I'm getting a movie sound track vibe from this. I haven't worked the whole thing out yet, but it's obviously morning. Sun is breaking through the clouds. There's water nearby. Probably a river. It rained the night before, and our hero is just awakening after. . .

I'll have to work on the rest of it. :D Nice stuff.

I'm having trouble getting the track to play the whole way through on nowhere......alright here it goes........

sounds good.........the mix has nice space........nice stereo spread.........i can picture this in a movie soundtrack or something.....

Whoaaa! Man, what verb and power yet at the same time maintaining a hi-level of comfort. It reminds me of a musical "PAINTING ON CANVAS" with Norman Rockwell assiting you on adding the subtle nuances of nature's creatures great & small yet on a musical level.
On the recording side, I was impressed on your use of efx and pan control! the experience stereo tranquility crossing from left to the right of my brain modules. When a song and it's production invokes a vision in the listener of the artists conception, to me IMHO, the jammie is a success!
This one was nailed dead-on!! This was a enjoyable experience!

isnt it time you deleted this thread:rolleyes: :D ;) :p :)

and i feel the urge to say the word "penis"....penis...penis...penis.....:p

Does that say Hard Wood? :)

The nice thing about the room i was talking about is that it is VERY warm, which is why I like it more than simulators. It's almost like it's got a nice 50-60ms pre-delay that just warms it right up. I think more people could get away with more verb if they paid more attention to their settings, like predelay, high roll-offs, etc....not just wet/dry mix. You're one of the few people here I think that handles a lot of verb well.

Hey Mix,
beautiful man. Yeah, nice panning and verb usage fer sure!! I enjoyed this. Very solid soundtrack material. That comment you made re: looking up to see a plane..... .....I caught myself doing the same thing..... ....only I was reaching for a shotgun.... That bird was real close to gettin hisself killt!!!:D :D :D

very tranquil, and very very nice!!

Certainly relaxing type style, sounds new age I suppose.

Not the type of song I could listen to over and over, but you have a good melody / motif thing going on.
