Well... I did it!

I bought all the stuff. Everything I'll need to start my recording days good and proper. (As opposed to a crappy comp mic!) I spent around £1700 (that's about $2,662.20) (including some instruments), here's what I got, in no particular order:

- Tannoy Reveal Active moniters (£359)
- M-Audio Audiophile 2496 (£139)
- AKG D112 Bass drum/bass guitar mic (£109)
- 2x Shure SM57 (£140)
- Behringer MX1604A mixer (£95)
- AKG K 270 Studio headphones (£69)
- 2x Quik-Lok A-300 Mic Stand (£42)
- Leads!

What do you guys think? Please no, "uh dude you forgot the most important part of recording equipment that will set you back another £300"!!

Some other mics would be useful but i wouldn't say you're missing anything.

You already have a decently fast computer? The shure sm57's are awesome but you might want to look into a pair of SD condensors for other instruments, i think the behringer ecm8000's are dirt cheap. And for vocals a LD condensor would be nice, but then again you don't NEED either of those and you can get by with what you have, and add mics as you feel needed and as money allows.

Thanks, I will be looking into more mics as funds permit in the future if things go well!
 
very good start.......definiely have enuff to get some decent sounding stuff done....ive heard some killer stuff done with less.....

as you know, i think your next move should be a decent LDC mic and a decent stand alone preamp, especially for vocals.......
 
Yup, that's a bit in the future for now, I'm now officially completely broke! ;)
