Howdy....Barry here, and I'm nubile, um, I mean a newbie.
Well, I'm a newbie to this site, although I've been playing music for about 25 years or so, occasionally professionally, but mostly just for fun. Went to Berklee college of Music for a year before deciding that I didn't want to try to make a living playing music.
I bought a four-track and a drum machine about eight years ago and messed around with that on and off. I friend of mine put some of those songs on CD for me recently and I put them up on this site:
http:www.soundclick.com/stuffonstuff
These songs (except one) are written and performed by, tada, me, using:
Guitars, Bass,Roland Drum Machine,Fostex casette 4-track,Korg A-5 guitar effects thing, and......hmmmm i guess that's it. If you get a chance to listen, let me know what you think.
But in the last year I've been getting (slightly) more serious, purchasing a mackie 1202vlzpro mixer, behringer compressor/limiter, shure sm58. (Personally I'd much rather be beaten with a 2x4 than see a computer in my music room. This is a personal bias, not a logical choice that I would expect others to follow). But mostly I've been trying to learn more, and thanks to the internet (and viewers like you!)I've been making progress.
Well, better get back to work; I promise to come back soon and ask vague, uninformed questions!
Cheers,
-Barry
