Weird things you make straps out of?

So, I have a good collection of guitars, and I get tired of buying straps, so it's always fun to find new and exciting things to make straps out of. I have a couple made out of duct tape (well, actually gaff tape), and I just made one out of an old tie. My friend made one out of a totally bitch'n seat-belt, it was nice, and I know pleanty of people who use old pants-belts and those seem to work out quite nicely. So I'm just wondering, what weird stuff have you made straps out of?

When I got my first guitar at a yard sale for $2 I went home and made a strap out of an old towel and some duct tape. I thought it was the coolest thing in the world.

Forget the towel... Just the duct tape will work fine! :-)
 
I knew a girl who made one of those out of a carpenters belt and bigger rubber dog toy.

Mmm, that's sexy.

I found a site awhile ago that sells ostrich skin and 'gator skin straps, but I'm pretty sure human hair has that topped by far. I expect to see them on ebay in the very near future.
 
I wanted a really wide strap so I modified a weight lifting belt and took all the pressure off my sholder.
 
Yeah, my other guitarist in our band SEROTONE uses a car seatbelt for a strap with the click bit. Its pretty cool, but i just use your average strap.
 
Leather, Duh. Vegetable tanned, 6 oz. Do the carving myself.-Richie
 
I made some out of seat belts, except without the buckle. I'd hate to have that thing ding up my guitar. A plus is also that they aren't adjustable, so you don't have to worry about them slipping and getting too big.
 
i saw a guy that had machine gun ammo links for his guitar strap. complete with inert rounds. looked like rambo. too bad he couldnt play.

a friend made one out of duct tape. they are picky. they stick to you, they dont adjust. and they wear out. i might have to try the duct tape. right now, i just have the longest one i could find. its plain black. its soft and doesnt hurt the shoulder too bad

I've tried making one from old guitar strings. Didn't work though. Cut my shoulder like a knife and fell apart the second time I used it. Maybe with more delicate weaving techniques it could work.
