Ok, I am trying out audition 2, I have always been a 1.5 guy. So far I really like it. But one problem. I'll try and be as detailed as I can.

Say I record a clip in multi-track (MONO)
then I double click the track and it pulls up in edit view
The clip sounds fine in multi, but in edit view it has a small high pitch chirping sound on the left monitor.
It only happens when I pull a RECORDED track into edit view. I tried it on a dave matthews song same process, and it doesn't do it.
I'm recording in 44.1, 32 bit and I tried 16 bit.
Also, if I save the file in edit view as a .wav and pull it up on window media player, it sounds fine.
if I playback with only the left output of the card going to the mono input on the board (left to both monitors) it goes away. Only when I play a mono track with both left and right outputs going into the board.

Here's what I've eliminated

-The monitors, I switch the left and right cables, problem moves
-I converted the mono into stereo and it's still there
-all the rest of the sound card stuff looks ok, this is only an edit view in audition problem.

There must be a setting I am missing, or buffer or something even though I think I've tried everything. The help section is no help.

Have you set "Edit > Audio Hardware Setup" correctly for Edit view? There are separate pages for each view.

yes, like I said, if I take a pro song, like dave matthews, and insert it into mutli and pull it into edit, it doesn't happen.
