Stop it, I can't breathe
Problem description:
Sometimes when I'm recording (multitrack) the audio track I just recorded seems to have started recording a bit too early (I mean, before the rest of the tracks started playing). So when I play it, it's a couple of milliseconds later than the rest of the tracks. The milliseconds extra are recorded data, not silence.
The freaky thing is that when I record the same part again the problem might occur, but chances are big it doesn't. Most of the times it works fine. So I can't regenerate the problem.
Any suggestions what might be my problem? Should I change some settings in Aud.ini? With my former PC it worked fine (a PIII 666) so it's a bit of dissapointment to stumble on problems like these when you've just bought an expensive fast pc.
Setup:
P-IV 2,26Ghz
512 DDR memory
2x40Gb Maxtor discs (NTFS), one dedicated for audio only
Windows XP
Soundblaster Audigy (with latest drivers)
Homestudio 2002 (I ran the Wave Profiler to setup the Audigy)
NVidia RIVA TNT 32Mb
