Weird level issue in Audition 1.0

Im getting this weird problem in Audion 1.0 . Sometimes when a tune kicks in , the volume starts off really low then gradually comes back up to the level its meant to be. Anyone have an idea here?

Sounds like some kind of soundcard "feature" which you'd do well to turn off if you can find it.
