Hi
If I ever needed one of these forums I need it now. I have Cubase sx. Let me describe some of its odd behavior. I was working on a tune and there was a solo section that I was doing a lot of takes on. I hadn't yet gotten a take I was satisfied with and set up to do some more. However , the take began simply stopping ( i.e. the bar that expands as you record, the event I guess its called), at a certain point. Like the bar just wouldn't go past a certain point and of course no material was recorded in it. Up to that point it recorded fine. Does anybody know why this would be or, more important, how to fix it?
There was no reason that the point where it stopped would be significant that I can see. It seemed like it just began stopping at that point for no apparent reason. I tried deleting those tracks or using other tracks, no help. the entire recording capability in any of the tracks just stops at that particualr measure. Its then possible to record like 10 bars later on, ie thres just this space in the project, this span where you can't record anything.
So now I'm left with the idea that I should just copy the whole thing to another project cuz maybe it has to do with the project somehow. By the way how would I do THAT? I know there's a way but I tried just highlighting and copying to the other project and no go. then I tried going into the pool and "export pool" and that gives me the option of just putting the pool into some other folder or something. "insert into project" only inserts it into the project the pool is in.
lastly, more odd behavior: I worked on some stuff, it was all saved and averything ( this is some different projects), and then I tried to go back and change some stuff and all the files were just GONE, all I had left was the mixdown I had made. I have no idea why this really is, the files got lost somehow. this is probably a hard one to answer so just concentrate on the 2 questions above if you want, unless you think you know. Other than these things the program works great, and I've never had any problems like the one above before. Any replies appreciated.
Thanks a lot,
GreenSpectrum
