Quick overview... I have my main template set up when I open it I have the 1st 8 tracks labled, recording is armed, and with the appropriate inputs set for each track. I then have a couple that arent armed, like bass, L and R guitar, guitar F and a vocal track for use later, all nice and set up like I like.
Right now I have the system set up to give me 5 aux busses to start with.
I also have a quick key (F7) set up to "add audio track" which it does.
All that is fine, works like a charm... here is the problem...
When I hit F7, it adds the audio track but it doesnt add the 5 aux busses and I cant figure out how to get them into it. I never had this problem before, and it IS a problem already as I'm trying to get a song mixed.
Also, how to I set my default input to Delta 1010 L 1/2? When I open the track, it defaults to Stereo 1/2, and I never ever record a stereo track that way. SOmetimes I forget and end up recording some left-only shit til Inotice somethings not right. Then its start-over time and that doesnt look good on my part.
Thanks!
Paul

Right-mouse click on the new track and select INSERT SEND-<The Aux Bux You Want>

You can also bind a key to this function.

Nope, thats not a fix I had already tried it. For one, it runs it full on 100% of whatever effects are on that buss, and 2) what about when I want to run the track through two or more busses?
Its got to be a bug, it makes adding tracks almost useless right now.
If there is not a fix for this, they are gonna get Sonar 3 back
because I cant work like this.

If anyone can help, please let me know.
I guess I'll fire an email to cakewalk and see whats up.

Hi Tubedude,

I'm not sure I understand you properly. Don't you just -

1. Use the PRE or POST controls and the send and receive levels should allow you not to be stuck at a 100% wet bus with the INSERT SEND command I said above.

2. Do the INSERT SEND command again for as many busses as you require.

Doesn't that work? Or is your complaint a workflow issue, ie. it now takes more clicks to do what you did with one in 2.2?

I agree that the additional bus routing flexibility looks like it has slowed you up on this one..... But the routing flexibility itself is still wonderful => not to mention cleaner than 2.2.

Ciao,

Perhaps you could set up your template to have 32 tracks with all send inserts already present. Have all but eight of these archived and hidden and just use M-Track Manager, to bring back "new" tracks as you need them.
