I had somebody in the studio who queried why there were two keyboards set up? In the studio I tend to do this quite often - one weighted and the other as plastic as possible. I made a video to try to demonstrate why two keyboards and just one set of sounds is my way of doing things. I figured I'll share it here.

Obviously (or maybe not) the types of sounds being used determines if I want weighted or not - for Piano the heavier weighted keyboards are great - for Snyth and Organ sounds non weighted is great - so basically I’m in total agreement with your approach - sometimes though the Weighted Keys can produce interesting mistakes (for me).
