alrighty then! i will soon be getting a behringer mixer (the one with 4XLR mic inputs) and 2 sm57's. i already have n-track, im just wondering about eq and effects. we're playing mostly DMB and RHCP covers, just let you know what kind of music we'll be recording. as for settings the mixer, boost/cuts, and effects, im clueless. i know that compression should be used on vocals, maybe a gate and some reverb on guitar. any help would be great :)

thanks for the posts, as for the eq, should i use it on the behringer mixer only, on the comp, or both?

That all depends on you and how you want the various parts of your music to sound.

If you put EQ on the tracks before they get into the computer (behringer), then you can't undo the eq setting you put on the incoming tracks.

There are a lot of different scenarios.

Again, it depends on how you all want the different parts to sound.
