And I do mean excrement. What a mess this bitch turned out to be. :laughings:.

Weapons Of Ass Destruction

I'm tired of fucking with it. Tear it up. Any comments welcome. :listeningmusic:

Greg :drunk:

Dumb lyrics:

Hey! Remember when you used to be so beautiful?
I can tell by the way you dress
Your life turned into a mess

We're gonna pop the cork,
I'll meet you behind the merry go round
After the sun goes down
Hanging from a tire swing,
Where I made my introduction
Underneath the mushroom cloud
You're lookin for weapons of ass destruction

Weapons of ass destruction

Hey now! You got too close
You look like you seen a ghost
No, don't go away
I can tell by the way you look
I have got you on my hook

Meet me at the garbage dump
I'll see you after the sun sets
You'll know me by my silhouette
Walking down the railroad tracks
To the zone of deconstruction
Underneath the mushroom cloud
You're looking for weapons of ass destruction

Don't run away, I don't wanna have to hurt you
You don't know what you got yourself into
Oh no!

Weapons of ass destruction

The riff that starts the song is bitchin, Motorhead-esq.

The overall mix sounds great, except the vox are too low for my liking. The mix doesnt have the deep lows that are in many modern rock mixes, but I think it still works the way you have it.

I sort of get the lyrics, but they dont have the clever amusement many of your tunes have. Maybe re-think some of it, because overall the instrument tracks are rippin.

Enjoyed the listen.

NICE!
At first I thought towards the beginning of the song that you had string/horns in there! Then I saw what you were doing with the guitar.

Seems as though you were influenced by Motorhead with a touch sprinkling of Faith no More's Epic.

Like how the floor tom sounds with the comparison to the bass guitar ... is that a direct in?

I think I counted three lead vocal tracks in there from time to time but it's hard to tell on these computer speakers.

Thanks for checking it. The bass is semi distorted and I went for more articulation and tightness in the kick. Both scenarios compromise low end, but I think I can get that part better. I haven't listened on various systems yet, so I may change a bunch of things. The lyrics are intentionally vague and meaningless. I guess the basic premise behind the words is a scenario when a man and woman meet up again after a long time apart....like at a high school reunion or something. She used to be hot, and now she's jacked up and just looking for a score to make herself feel better. The lyrics are always the least important part of a song to me, so I don't care if they're good or make any sense. :D

Another Motorhead comparison. That's never a bad thing to me. I didn't try to make it sound like Motorhead, but I'm a big fan, and that's cool if that's what it sounds like. The bass is a mic'd Ampeg combo. There's lots of layers of vocals and guitars, which is partially why it was a pain to mix. I shoulda muted all that extra shit and just went bare-bones with it. Thanks for listening.

Dude! Me likey! Drums are great as usual... :p

I'm also a fan of the lead guitar part you got going in the background a lot. Sounds great! Thought the lyrics were pretty funny as well!

Once again, a great song from an opinionated dick. lol! Sounds great man. I will say the vocals sound a bit thin to me. Maybe that was your point. The solo could come up as well IMO. If there were truly a punk version of mojo, well you got it without mood lighting. :D

It's on my playlist now......

Thanks fellas. I'm on the fence about the vocal level. I usually like em a little in the mix but I don't know about this one.

I really like this one. The tempo is refreshing, and I think the drums sound awesome as does the bass.

If anything, I think the guitars could be a little better defined and have some more guts to them. They just seem a little on the thin side maybe? I think they sound best during the staccato chugging parts. The bends on the leads do remind me of motorhead quite a bit - which was cool.

I would prefer that the vocals be a brought up a bit too. Really a fun tune though and the drum/bass combo was pretty happenin'. :)

Aha! Points for heatmiser. I've thought the same about the guitars since I tracked them, but I kept em to see how they'd stand up in the finished mix. The guitars were my main beef with this stupid mix all along. I tweaked and layered and EQ'd to no end. They never fattened up. Less gain and more layers didn't work on this one. I'm gonna just re-track em. Thanks for the listen.

Yes!!! Damn it, you're awesome Greg! This is great!

-Adam.

Thanks a lot dude. :D

Great performance(s) and mix. I don't hear the balance problems at all. It just needs a boost in the mid-lows to bass and a little drop in the highs which are distorting on this file. Tigers are beating the Rangers tonight by the way.

Haha great title. My favorite parts were the ones starting 'Hey!' I could have listened to a lot more of that. First impression were that the vocal was just slightly too far back, but after a couple of listens I think it's just right. I got nothing else, top notch quality as usual

Aye, nice work Greg. Love how the bass and drums work together - sounds like a proper drummer's bassline :D

I think the vocal needs bringing up a touch too, not so it's right on top of the mix but just a little more prominent.

Thanks for the listen, but nothing is "distorting".

Thanks bro. I'm gonna remix this thing.

Thanks for checking it out. Another vote for louder vox. Gonna fix it......

I really like the driving bass and lead on that riff before the verse. That sounds pretty sweet!

I do agree that the vox could come up; they're pretty unintelligible.

Just caught this so I have the latest mix. Vocals sit well - defined but not jumping out ever. Rest is good for me. Love the intor and the lead riffs on this one. Seems you come up with something new on every song.
My only nit was that it was too short haha - but short and sweet are better than long an dragged out...
I have to go now and comment on some hip hop beats... :D
