Weakest link?

just out of curiosity....
at4033->dmp3->audiophile.....
cheap "system." i haven't actually got the preamp, so im kinda wondering about getting a better used pre instead. or should i give up...

It alllll depends on what you're recording and what style of music it is.

Yeah, it does all depend, but I think what you've got is pretty good. All of those pieces you mention are respectable. Probably the weakest link is the Audiophile, and its lacking balanced TRS connections might hurt if you want to run long lengths of cable, but I've used mine for years and continue to get good use out of it...

There's nothing wrong with that signal chain. They are all well chosen budget minded units with a proven track record. So go and record something.-Richie
