simple question...i just tried a few suggestions in the CEP forum


I cant anything when recording vocals...

ex: If i am recording the 1st VOCAL trck of a song...i get no playback AS i record...


help.
 
What kind of soundcard are you using? Some cards do not allow simultaneous playback while recording.

ehh.... a cheapie Aztec audio...any reccomendations as far as purchasing a new one...

I never really intended to use the PC for recording...it kinda just...well...happened.
 
What you should get for a soundcard kinda depends on what you want to do. Is this going to be a permanent recording format for you? Then you will have to think about how you want to mix. If you want to mix internal, then you would need to look for a card with two inputs and two outputs. If you want to eventually mix to an analog board then you will need a card with enough outputs for each track you recorded.

If you are looking for serious audio quality, I would suggest doing a search on this bbs on soundcards. There is a ton of info on the pros and cons of just about all soundcards out there.

try bringing up the playback control box, (double-click on the little speaker in the right hand corner) and make sure nothing is muted.
