Hi all,

I'm planning to invest my hard-earned cash in a new soundcard..
Been looking at the "WaveTerminal 2496" (http://egosys.net/1-pro/eng/product/wt_2496/wt2496.html)
and the "Delta 66" (http://www.midiman.net/products/m-audio/delta66.php).

Most important is that the card has a digital in, so I can utilize the
Yamaha 01v digital mixer in best possible way.. but it's always
nice with some extra analog ins and outs too..

Anyone here using any of the cards I have mentioned? Would
be great to have some advices or comments about how they
deliver.. I'm using Logic Audio, and soft synth-usage is getting
more and more "out of control" (hehe), so I'd appreciate low
latency..

Many thanks for your thoughts!! :D

i'm not familiar with the egosys card, but the delta has excellent driver support...my guess is that the egosys has good driver support, just don't know first hand..

Glejs,

Been using (and relying heavily) on the Delta 66 for my digital media services company for the better part of a year now. Awesome card with great driver support. I barely know it's there - the thing is so solid.

I would however suggest getting the Delta 66 as part of the Omni Studio package. This breakout box is the thing that really shines for me. So flexible and solid - I don't ever need a standard mixer as long as the Omni is available. Great package.

Cheers,

Thanks for the feedback.. I'm still not sure what to do.. the omni
studio package removes the need of an external mixer? Then
what will I do with my beautiful Yamaha 01v? ;)

Have you tried the Delta 66 with Logic Audio Platinum 5? It's the
sequencer of my choice.. Also I wonder about latency.. I know
part of the latency problem depends on the computer processor
speed.. but still I wonder, is it possible to get real low latency and
stuff like that..?

Thanks!

Glejs,

Latency? I am getting 8ms without even trying in Cubase and Nuendo. It's not an issue with the Delta. Just amke sure you are running Win2000 or XP for best results.

Cheers,

Cuzin B
