I was playing with the Wavelab 5 demo last night, I have to say it was pretty sweet. I love the interface, very simple, very intuitive. I am extremely stupid when it comes to excessively complicated interfaces :o

So then I fired up the native plugs--man, that multiband compressor is a scary tool. I pulled up a tune I mixed four years ago, I figured it probably wasn't that loud, but hey, I managed -14dB RMS with -0.25dB peaks without really knowing what I was doing! But then I set the "FM Radio" preset loose on it--BAM! Instant -10dB RMS! Actually from the look of the wave, I thought it would be worse :D

Anyway, despite the "quality" of that preset, I think I'm sold on this. So tell me, what are the best tricks you've found? What is your usual workflow in Wavelab?

how does one find out the RMS value in Wavelab? I'm using Wavelab 4 and Ozone 1

the RMS meter is under Analysis/Level Pan Meter. The turquoise meter is the RMS.

You can also highlight a section and Analysis/Analyse Selection to get a readout on your Level/Pan meter.
