how in the heck do you get wavelab to make your entire mix louder?

im trying with the compressor but im not noticing a hotter burn? what am i doing wrong? is it a ratio setting, or should i be using a different effect?

how do i get this bugger to make the overall mix hotter?

you need some plugins..

you need: good EQs, good compressor, Limiter, Harmonic exiter....etc.

I usualy use:
iZotope Ozone2 / Waves C1 / Waves L2

EQ --> compression --> limiting. Exciters and reverbs help, too, although I'm not really sure where they are supposed to go in the chain. Ozone is a great all-in-one tool, although to my ears the Waves stuff can't be beat, especially in terms of flexibility.
