Wavelab and Vegas?

Can I not use Wavelab as my audio editor in Vegas Pro? When I select Wavelab as my preferred editor, and then open up a selection in the editor, Wavelab opens up, but the file does not open up in Wavelab. I've searched around the help files of both programs to see if there is something that I can do to make it work, but nothing. Does anybody use this combination? Can it work?

This happens to me too but using Cakewalk instead of Vegas.
