Waveform Checking

Do you guys know any Waveform Checking procedures i can do ?

Checking for
1.) Spikes-
2.) Ripple-
3.) Clipping-
4.) DC offset-
a.) Positive DC offset-
b.) Negative DC offset-

5.) Clicking noises-
6.) Hum-
7.) Oscillations-
8.) Noise Floor-
9.) Waveform Peak value should be?
How do i know this?

10.) Biasing the Waveform- how do i do this?

Any other waveform checking procedures i should know about that
can add to this list?

How do i do these waveform checking on the list?
How do i notice this stuff when im looking at the waveform?

How do i know that the waveform looks right and is BIASED right to get
the maxium gain of the waveform when recording it?

How about just listening? That's been the predominant waveform checking technique used by professionals for decades.
