OK, trying this again as it don't look like the last post made it thru for some reason....

I've never used Creative Labs Wave Studio before so I'm completely in the dark.

What I'm attempting to do is to record my already mixed stuff from a cassette deck so that I can eventually end up burning it to cd. I can get it to record alright but the problem is controling the input levels. When I record it is peaked off the meter and ends up a distorted mess. How do I control the input levels???

I also use Cakewalk (Pro Audio 7) and have the same problem with that....

HELP!! If anyone has the answer please let me know, trying to make demo cd's for my band....
 
What's plugged into what?

You want the line-out or headphone from the cassette deck going to the line-in of the soundcard, not the mic of the soundcard.

The source is plugged into the LINE IN (as opposed to MIC IN)
