Ok what I am trying to do is convert songs that I make on my keyboard ( midi files) to wave files. Is that possible and how do I do that. I am using just a regular pc. The program I use is Goldwave and Acid Music. So if possible how can I do this?

You're going to need some analog output from whatever synth you're using to feed into the line in of your soundcard.
Then just hit record in Goldwave and start playback of the sequencer controlling the synth. Even if all you have is a piece of garbage keyboard/synth like my Yamaha PSR-GX76 which has no audio outputs other than a headphone out and speakers built into the keyboard, you can do this by either of the mickey mouse methods available to the adventurous home recordist. I can't tell you which will work better. They're both pretty sketchy.
1) Adapt the headphone out to the stereo line in on your soundcard. The levels will be way too high so you compensate by turning down the volume on the synth. More noise.
2) Use the speakers on the cheapo keyboard if you have any and run a mic (SM-57 or better) into some preamp and then into the soundcard.
Either of these can actually sound pretty good, but:
Preferred solution is to run from a line out on the synth to a line in on the soundcard.

Thanks for the advice. I used to use that method on a smaller keyboard and it worked pretty good. I thought that since I am now using a professional keyboard there was a way to do it and get better sound quality. Using that method my hi hats are not very audible.

Cheap multitracking software.

LaDonya,

There is some damned cheap multitracking software out there. If you're having a problem with some of the stuff on your sequencer not coming out, you could get one of those programs and then record each track from the sequencer to a different track within the program.

Would take some effort synching them up, but you'd have some control over levels. And then you could export to .wav and you'd be set.
