Mono mixes are a litmus test for balance. You're pretty close here balance-wise.

Spectrally speaking (:D) I think it's tilted toward the high end a bit. It sounds to me like there's a bit too much air, and little too little lower end.

Thanks for the response Dobro.
High end over kill - well, in a way that's good. I've had commentary on the last couple of songs that the songs have been, tonally, a bit "dark".
If I've overcompensated then my system must be in balance now.
I think the other balances are pretty good on this given how little was done since the last one.

I've heard this a ton of times now and I'm not bored of it either - even though the melody has been firmly lodged in my head for a week now.

The last mix is by far the best in terms of balance and combining the parts of contributors more coherently. The drums fit well on that last mix, and the solo sounds more like it belongs now too.

It's almost a shame that that's the best mix because I liked the wah and the synthy guitar, but it undeniably works better this way. Without Trish's vocals it could almost pass for a lost Wedding Present song now, but the melody and singing take it in a different direction.

It's an excellent tune, I'm glad that you've managed to keep moving the mix in the right direction.

Thanks robgreen,
I miss the extra parts m'self but "all in service of the song" as they say.
It is odd that things melded so well in mono after just a couple of tweaks. I'll get back to tackle the problems thie mono mix has illuminates in the coming hols.
