This is a song I recorded when I first got my firepod.

Recorded with one mic in front of my guitar and vocals, and line out on the guitar, into N-Track studio 24bit.

This song is about the real public education we get every day when we listen to the media and absorb its hype. Let me know what you think.

Public Education
(c) 2005 Josh Noone =]

I watched my country fall
Into the hands of dishonest men
I watch my freedom go,
As you quietly washed your hands

And I fear inside, All I love has died
And given way to the power of fear
And I hope and pray I’ll forge way though today
And find life in tomorrows eyes. In tomorrows eyes.

I watched freedom run,
Staring down the barrel of democracies gun.
But I never knew a different one,
A victim of a public education.

And I fear inside, All I love has died
And given way to the power of fear
And I hope and pray I’ll forge way though today
And find life in tomorrows eyes. In tomorrows eyes.

[break]
You legislate with these lies you create
The Tierney’s run mad
And you sold our souls for a fist of gold
The republics dead at last…..

I watched freedom run,
Staring down the barrel of democracies gun.
But I never knew a different one,
A victim of a public education.

Thanks!

Yeah, what mic are you using? How did you treat, if at all the acoustic?

And Line in

One mic in front of me and the guitar. Plus I lined out the guitar into a second channel. Recorded the acoustic and vocals at the same time in one take with the room mic about 20 inches away about upper chest level. And of course recorded the line in on a seperate track in the same take. So I had 2 tracks. I leveled them, added a little bit of reverb to the main track. Pan'd the line track all the way to the left (i think) and brought the volume way down so you can just get a hint and it gave it a wider stereo feel without haveing too much in there. Didnt do much EQing at all I dont think, in fact I didnt do any if I recall. Just a hint of the ntrack reverb. Then mixed it down on my headphones.

Thats pretty much it =]

thanks guys!

Thanks guys!

I really liked this. I'm not usually a fan of acoustic/vocal songs but this one worked really well.

Good Stuff. I do drum loops if you're interested :)

Josh,
Initially I thought the meterof the lyric was a bit uneven and forced. :o However, when I went and listened I was blown away. They work great with the guitar nad melody. Nice tune, Dave.

it sounds really "powerful" to me (may be it's the minor chord effects), great recording!!! A very nice song!!!!!

Keep it up!!
