There's always hope.... :D

I think the lead tone is a bit squealy....but this could easily be put into shape. ;)

the thing is, i'm pretty sure that i like it all squealy and noisy. i don't know why but i do. :p i'm perfectly capable of playing something conventional with a conventional tone but it's just not as much fun to my ears.

come on, i'm not a sissy. i can take some good o' bashing. bring it on!

You don't even live in Florida anymore...Sissy.... :p

true, true. :D it was a pretty gay name to begin with though, you have to admit.

just because you participated dogman, i tried another version: the dividing line (squeal lite)

let me know if it's any major improvement. :p

Hella improvement bud...if you want a real squeal, I could play along...

It's actuall a cool, poppy tune.... :D

it's supposed to be poppy with a acid-dosed twist? you know? music that you can dance to on acid. if you're interested, i'll post the mix minus the lead guitar.

(i must spread something around before infecting dogman again) it's the thought that counts!

in the second one i removed the univibe plugin (that i so dearly wanted to use :D ) and the tube screamer plugin (the squeal). i also nudged some levels and panning here and there. in #3 i just played a whole new guitar part and panned the guitars differently.

this is what you get when David Bowie and the Sex Pistols have a three headed love child. Cool tune! :p

that has to be the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me. will you marry me? we could have a three headed baby together. :D

thanks for the comments guys.

Yeah very cool. Reminds me of Carlos Alomar on Bowie's Low. The mix is kinda cloudy, you could cut somewhere down low if you wanted but it doesn't bother me. Rock steady, I like it

I LOVE the squeal tone. This is the basis of a good song. Has some of the feel of Berlin era Iggy (that was david B playing guitar mostly) also reminiscent of J Masics on the lead line flow.

I'm with you on the mix being cloudy. I think the main culprit is the psuedo bass guitar (pitch shifted guitar) which sounds horrible soloed. I might have went a bit overboard on the drum distressing too. I'll see what I can do about the cloudiness.

It's Pavement-esque. I like the lead guitar alot!

That's the second nicest thing anyone has ever said to me. Will you share a 3 way marriage with Nothingface and I and carry our 3 headed baby? :D Which version were you referring to Fancy?

Thanks Rayc. I'm pretty fond of the squeal tone too, although it does mask the notes alot. I did'nt really mind though. This may turn into a 4 way marriage or you could at least be the mid wife. :p

Thanks for the comments everyone. (you must infect someone else before infecting fancy again). iou for dogman and fancy.

The answer is: It's raucus noise!

It's extremely loud and wailing, but also a bit compressed sounding. Wall of soundish. Wall-o-distorto, maybe. There's a veneer of subtle distortion over most everything, like an edgy harshness. Anyway, fwiw it works artistically, it's kinda catchy & I like it. It's raucus and raw as fuckin hell. If you've heard my page or my station, you'd know I like that kinda stuff. I don't listen to or review much original stuff at all, but this one I did, and it was fine. A lucky pick.

What's the question???  ;)

I guess after listening several times and posting, I'm a bit more curious about production details. I'm quirky like that about recording.

Cheers, eh! ;)

PS: It's very Punk!

I dig raucus noise like this! ;)

Double-PS: I usually don't nitpick mixes, either. I'm just a listener with a technical opinion about music & things. Your music is good. Keep it up. ;)

Who's garage is on fire? :D :D :D :D :D :D

Why don't we get this kind of stuff in my neighborhood? ;)
