Wanted; We Need a Tascam 238 Syncaset

Hi, We have a bunch of multi-track cassette tape recordings that was recorded on a 238 Syncaset. We're wanting to transfer all the multi-track tapes to digital (pro-tools) for re-mixing, mastering, etc.
Is there anyone here that has one for sale? ...or to use? or maybe even a service for doing what we're wanting?
 
The 238 came in two versions.The DBX and the Dolby S versions.If the tapes were recorded on a DBX version,then a 488 Porta studio would work fine.Both had the same record/play head.
 
Yes, our old machine had DBX noise reduction.
I actually once had it all set up with a 488 MKII, interfaced with a Tascam 16x08 into our comps, but
the 488's cap-stan failed on us that very day, talkin' bout bad luck aye?
I didn't know that about the DBX compatibility thing, which is definitely something to realize.

Are you still interested in acquiring a Tascam 238? I have one in Very Good condition, with only about 20 hours on it.

I may be interested in that good condition 238. How much you asking for it and what part of the world?
