I am planning my first DAW. I am a guitarist (electric). I have just discovered DI boxes and reamping. This has led to many more questions.
In short I need a much better knowledge of the entire recording signal chain and how it all hangs together (Hi-z, Lo-z, phantom power, ground loops, signal levels, balanced and unbalanced signals, pre amps etc etc etc). Until I understand all this in more detail I am throwing dice.
I have a technical background so can handle some jargon and science. However I want to apply this knowledge to a simple real world home studio. I am after any technical article, book, blog etc you think may help. Thanks
