Don't know if this is the right topic to post this thread on...

I love sounddesign, mostly programming synths, and I've experimented with it for a long time and got better and better.
Now I want to start my own blog about it. There I'll post clips of my new programmed/layered sounds, discuss, and simply network etc.
Though I don't know where to begin...

To start with, what blogsite would you recommend? Like a usual blogspot blog?
I'm planning to start a new Soundcloud account to upload the sounds and then just link them in the posts I make.

How should I proceed to make people find my blog? I mean of course I can tell my friends and post about it on the forums I'm active at, but are there more ways that I might have forgotten?

Could there be hard competition in the "market" (or how I should call it) for these kind of blogs, and if so how can I stand out from the rest?

I bet I sound pretty retarded, but I feel a lot confused.

Thanks.

You have many of the same questions I was gonna ask you directly. Mainly, why would anyone wanna read your blog? What are you going to provide by way of content or entertainment that would make someone choose your blog over the billion trillion other blogs out there? What kind of unique information will you provide that can't be obtained by a simple google search?

I only have one question to anyone starting a music/audio blog........why?

If you do yet one....more....music/audio blog....
....have pictures of naked women, at least then you'll get some hits.

Well, some blogs are about other people's music and provide access to hard to get albums.
Music fans like those.

I know that's not what the OPs talking about doing.

Like greg said - what is going to make your blog any different than the zillions out there?
I always read about people giving their albums to music blogs and getting substantial exposure/sales this way - how do you find blogs that actually do this? Personally, I don't read any blogs except a small private one me and some old college buds have.

Good questions to ask, great advice!
