Want to Buy: Altec 685A Mic (vintage)

Don't have one but +1 on wanting one. Love old US mics and this one is on my list.

AT moment my RCA 74 and 77 are in the shop, but salivating for their return.

Best of luck.

BTW what instrument sources were u thinking of tracking w/ this mic?

Vocals... coffeehouse ballads. (In the 60's, the Altec 685A was the best vocal tape recording mic I ever found. Instruments would be mic'd separately with anything else we had. Everything was live and most of us were limited to 2-tracks. If you didn't like the take, you did it again.)

I'm almost 10 years late to the session but I have two of these in Chicago. The main reason I am replying is to find out whatever I can about them. I have to figure out the 5-pin cable. At first, I thought these were tube mics.
