Wanna start building my own cables

Will this do the trick (as in quality and ease of use)? I've done some very minor soldering stuff in the past and am pretty good at building things with my hands.

Also does it matter what kind of rosin 60/40 solder I get? What are recommended wire strippers? Thanks again.
