*edited* nvm this!!!

I've been reading this forum for awhile. I get amazied at what people have in thier studios! I was wondering what came out of all those bells, whistles, and bling? Can someone point me in the direction (or start one here) where I can hear what came form all the pretty things? I recorded a song years ago. Where I used my crap soundcard - turtle beach/santa cruz. The mic I got with my modem and my guitar amp - Peavey backstage Plus. Also used Sonar 2.0 XL (I believe it was). I got some midi drum and bass tracks from GP3 (Guitar Pro). The result wasn't that bad to where I couldn't listen to it at all. It wasn't CD quality by no means but it was decent. I wish I could start this off by linkin my old site but its long gone and I don't think we can upload .mp3,.wav to this site :/. Anyway please leave links or email to where I can hear what you all can do. Its one thing to talk the talk but can you walk the walk? Also if you can_can you leave what your set-up is as well?

Thx,
livilaNic

P.S.
Don't take this the wrong way I'm just instrested in learning.

You will find an array of production quality amongst members here - from basic recordings to as good as it gets. After spending a good deal of time on this bbs and reading several good texts on recording/mixing/mastering, I decided to scrap (see: burn to CD-R to never be seen again) everything I'd done beforehand and started doing things better. So, that being said, I have nothing new completed yet (of my new standards) to share. However, others I'm sure do.

Current setup:
DAW - Adobe Audition 1.5, FL Studio 4 on a 3g P4 with 1gig ram, Raptor HDDs
MIDI Controller - Evolution MK-461C
Drums - DFH Superior
Bass - MIDI kits or direct via PODxt
Electric Guitar - PODxt
Acoustic Guitar - various mics (can't remember names off top of head)
Vocals - same mics (large condensor)
Outboard - Preamp=Presonus MP20, Compressor=FMR RNC,
Mixer/8-track=Fostex FD-8 using Planet Waves cables
Plugins - WAVES, TC Reverb, Voxengo (some freeware/demo, some
purchased)
Monitors - currently hifi's --> real ones soon :D

Omfg!!!

Thx,
Dude it was late when I wrote that. OMFG!!!

Yeah I listened to it in the other thread RAM recommends. I thought she needed to be more excited or something. The music sounded great but the singer sounded depressed. Maybe slow the keys down a bit.

That key part is stuck in my head!!!
Did you perform on that?

Ha, ha! I think 'haunting' was more what they were going for. A friend of my daughter did the electronica. My daughter heard it and had the idea for the vocals and lyrics. I recorded my her singing and mixed one version, and then e-mailed the MP3 of the vocal track to her friend who mixed the second version.

Other than My World, all the songs on that page are me. I did not perform in My World.

Thanks for giving it a listen.
