A simple video with not moving parts (there's a reason that the subtext/pretext/ubertext/lyriccal text will make clear).
I had a lot of troubvle with Super & UTub for this one - took 15 goes to upload it despite it being a tiny flv file.
Heavily pixilated in some spots due to conversions & the source material.
Have a squiz at

or the tiny version:

Cheers

Cool vid Ray - it must take a while to find all those photos. They do tell the story well! Sorry to hear about your issues with the uploads. You'd think they could resolve that with those fiber optic connections....:D:D:D:D

Thanks Gerry,
At best we have copper as the standard I think my line is tin. the govt is brawling with companies about optical fibre as the standard for any new housing development but that's pie in the sky. My nephew lives 15km south of me & he can't even get ADSL - the best the national phone company, who owns & maintains (sic) the lines can offer him is dial up.

Nice work Ray! Guitar sure has a vintage Edge U2 sound...I like! I think you did a great job on the tempo of the image changes with the music...when I try doing something similar, it comes across really scattered and not focused...your images were very effective in conveying the lyrics, that last pic of the child and vulture was very powerful.

The song sounds a bit over-compressed. I'm not sure how much of that is YouTube, and how much is you. Do you have a higher-quality version available?

The backup vocals were pretty muddy.

I kind of liked the panning on the guitar solos. That was neat.

Oh yes, definitely art, Ray.
The pictures portray the song's message very well. The song sounds great too. Rami did a great job with the pots and pans. Your creativity shines.....:)

Joey :):):):)

I don't really get it. But admittedly my ADD keeps me from focusing on and getting the message in most music and video. I just end up listening to the music and ignoring the lyrics and/or images on the screen. You should see me watch a movie. I pretty much wear out the rewind button. I'm always like, "wait, what the hell just happened?"

Anyway, you did a good job piecing the vid together. Is that RAMI drumming?

Queeps - thanks mate - you're generous.
VHS - The link below will take you to the song. I don't recall any comments or issues re compression - I fear that's part of the hassle converting a song to MP3 to WMV then FLV then utub doing their thing - every step reduces the quality of the MP3. I had a lot of probs converting from WMV to FLV - Super kept on increasing the size (by 5 times in fact) which meant there was something wrong somewhere. Here's the link to the song page so you can suss out the song for compression issues - I'd be interested in your opinion (the song is 1/2 way down the page):

Joey, Thanks!!! It's rather literal isn't it. Easy enough to cobble together.
Greg, Not much to get. The picture near the end, of the vulture & child, was taken by a professional photographer. He later won a Pulitzer Prize for the snap. Unfortuantely, after taking the shot he walked away from the scene & left the child: the shot being, at that time, perhaps more important to him that the life in the balance. Some months later, presumably after reflecting on his motivations & actions, the photographer is reported to have taken his own life. The song questions the commitment of coffee table book photographers to their subjects - whether they are faddist or potential social engineers.
Yep, RAMI bashed the tins & skins on this one about three years ago.

I guess I'm just a cold unfeeling bastard because that vulture pic does nothing for me. Sure it's sad and all, but damn, vultures gotta eat too. ;)

Wow. Converting that for Youtube was awful! The Soundclick version sounds way better.

The guitar tone is a little unusual. It doesn't have a ton of "air," so when Youtube trims all the high-end, the guitar suffers.
The backing vocals are really muffled though.

Very cool, I enjoyed the vid, it fitted the song.

I kinda got a Talking heads bvibe from the tune, wich is cool.
Bass is just how I like it:cool:

I really enjoyed your last one as well, showed it my wife as well she was intrigued:cool:
