The more I read about music equipment and PC/Mac music software applications, the more I'm seeing many of the same acronyms, words, references, etc. crop up, but I haven't found out what they mean. Let me give an example of what I'm referring to:

VST, TDM, ASIO, WDM, DSP, GSIF, SMPTE, Word Clock and loads more.......

How does a person learn what these things stand for and do?

Also, I hear alot of talk about editing sounds of instruments & vocals when recording them by setting them to a certain frequency. How does one learn about frequencies?

Does anyone else feel like they need to enroll in a Music and Sound editing school to learn such things???

Thanks,

Phree

Go to this sites homepage and read thru the Glossary of terms

Thanks alot Stealth! I'll read and book mark the Glossary.

Btw, I'm in the Triad area, as I noticed you're in Charlotte. I sometimes visit Mars in Charlotte since my area doesn't have any large audio dealers with toys for days to demo!
