For what......?

This gets asked a lot... :p

Reverb - GlaceVerb. Completely free, and sounds just as good as my Waves reverb. Great for acoustic guitar/vocals/electric guitar...everything really.

Compressor - ReaComp, comes with Reaper but I think it can also be downloaded from www.KVRAudio.com.

Limiter - W1 Limiter.

Delay - Kjaerhus Audio Classic Delay. You can find a good, free plugin for just about everything (EQ, delay, reverb, etc.) here: http://www.kjaerhusaudio.com/classic-series.php

EQ - Classic EQ, Paris EQ, ReaEQ (comes with Reaper).

this may hi-jack....but is vst/directx like rtas/tdm. is it easier on your computer if you use both instead of all dx?

It's probably a good time to slowly start weaning off of DX. I believe Microsoft has dropped DX support in the new Vista OS, and the few software companies that still do support DX are probably going to follow suit real quick.

...and if you have any doubt about DX vs VST, search KVR for each kind of effect and you'll find far more VST effects than DX effects.
