I hope someone can help me with this strange problem.

I have nearly completed a 6 track demo of my band using audio only.

I wanted to add some VST instruments. I loaded up my mda piano and
could not here anything. Now here are the strange, puzzling and
annoying things:
1) The transport bar shows midi in & out is working
2)If I record the track (I cannot hear what I am playing!) it plays
back ok i.e. it works
3) The VSt instruments work in new songs created an old ones, just not
these 6 new songs.
4)I have checked all the settings I know about (and many i dont) and
everyone seems to be identical to the other songs settings (midi is not
muted!!!)
5) I am close to giving up!!!!

Please have I missed anything or is hteir just a "bug" in these 6 song
files. Is there hidden box i've ticked / unticked!!!

Please help

Wierd.
Are ytou controlling the VST inst. with a midi controller, keyboard?
Can you see the midi signal on the track (blue bar going upand down as yo play)?
What is the input and output selceted for that track?

it sounds like you should have these basics covered because you can make it work with other songs, but this is where i would start.

My steps are to go to devises- VST inst. and select the paino or what have you. Then create a midi track, and makle sure my keyboard is triggering the track correctly, then go tooutput and output it to the VST instrument. That usually does the trick.

yah make sure youve outputted to the MDA piano; its a nice plug in too I find.

Yeah I'm having the same problem in cubase vst/32. My instruments work in other songs, but I have one song where it doesn't work. I've also check my panels:
option>>Midi Setup>>System...
option>>Midi Setup>>Filtering

The settings seem to be all the same in both songs except can't hear any sounds being triggered.

I don't know if this is some kind of glitch within cubase. I've experience this before and cubase will just bugger up, but I was able to reverse the problem by going into option>>Midi Setup>>System... panel. This time it doesn't seem to want to work.

I have an M-Audio Radium49 connect via usb. I get a trigger signal going in and out, but there is no sound. I can too however record the midi triggers and they will play back, but I can't heard what I'm doing it makes it harder to do anything worth the time.

southcaver did you ever get this figure out?

Hey I got it to work.

I deactived my multirecord option and had merge checked option on

Option>>Multirecord>>Active -- make sure this isn't checked and make sure that merge option is checked

I don't know why this is working, but it worked.
