Have received info that it may be possible to simply run out of my digouts (vs-1880) into most any burner. I am NOT interested in backing up anything, just running rough mixes out on a CD. Is this possible? Essentially, all I'm trying to do is run out a CD the same way I would a cassette off of the Master outs. While running out of the digouts, I assume that going straight to the burner that it will keep the effects, etc.... If it doesn't, please let me know.
If I do have to get the "real thing", I'd guess the Plextor (8220?) is the way to go. I'm just not really wanting to pay Roland another $600. They've gotten enough from me this year. I'm trying to look the other way, because I've also heard that some people have trouble getting the Plextor/ Roland CD-II to work with their PC's. I REALLY don't want to have to buy two burners.
Any tips for digital cable? Have also read that you can solder RCA's to standard coax - myth????
As said before, I'm really not interested into backing up everything. If I were to ever need to improve anything that was done a while back, I'd just have to do it again. -life's too short. (Besides, I get everything perfect on the first take!!!!LOL, JK).
