Any of you folks checked out the Vox Tone Lab. Guitar Player gave it a good review...all pros, no cons. All I have heard is good stuff over on the Line 6 POD boards. Anybody got the scoop on the sound of this thing?

Sounds very interesting: an amp modeller that uses real tubes in the preamp ..... that is exactly what has been missing from all the others (POD, J-station, V-amp etc etc). It even has a switch to control whether it is playing into a real amp or just line-out. I imagine plugged into a real clean/uncoloured amp it could sound great.

The tube is not in the pre amp, it's in the power amp.

I have the valvetronix 120W. It's great, I love it. Much better than the Line6 amps I've tested.

I have no experience with the Tone Lab, but I do with magazine reviews: they are utterly worthless.

Seems the best thing to do is exactly what you're doing: ask around for unbiased opinions at places like here and Harmony Central.

got mojo?
