Volume leveling.

I have a good number of MP3's that I have burned to CDR. NTI is my burning program, and I did select 'volume balancing' just prior to proceeding with the burning process. However, I found that the 'volume balancing' feature didn't seem to work, because levels are all over the place, between some of these songs. What would be the best way to defeat this, and what program would it take to do so?

I would really appreciate anyone's help, with this matter.
 
Well...I searched around a little bit, and happened across a little freeware program which (I think) just may fit the bill for me. It is the MP3Gain program, in case someone else might be so interested in it.
