Volume Envelopes CEP 2.0

Yes its me again, with yet another simple cool edit pro question. I searched the help file but it seems that they couldn't write a manual that was simple and focused enough to have the info about each topic all in one place.
Im trying to draw some Volume Envelopes in the multitrack view. I have envelopes enabled in the View window but for some reason I can't seem to get a volume envelope "point to show up" . If I click on the top line of the "Box" it shows Fx/wet envelope, If I click on the middle, its a pan envelope, so how exactly do I start A volume envelope? I know ive done it before but I couldn't figure it out earlier. Is there a short cut to insert one or am I just totally missing something?
Thanks in advance, sorry im a dummy. Im used to using all outboard gear.
 
Okay, when you've got the correct button pushed (not the pan one, but the one that says 'db'), you should see a solid green line at the very top of each wave form with 2 dots...one at each end. Wherever you click on that line will create a new point that you can then drag up or down. Do you see the green line at all? It blends in pretty well with the default color scheme unfortunately, but just click around at the top of the wave form and see if you can get a dot to magically appear, lol.
 
Oh yeah, you have to have the "dot" button pushed too...lol. It's the 2nd one in the picture with the big huge red circle around it. Don't you wish the manual would use stuff like this? lol....HANG IN THERE MAN.

HAHA CHRIS HARRIS to the rescue. That is exactly what I needed. The manual for this program sucks a fat one. Thanks again Chris, im going to figure this crap out one way or another.
 
Yes, you are. And Chris Harris is going to have been instrumental in that process.

But how come you don't ask me any questions? I know at least 50% of what Harris knows.
 
Dobro, I was unaware that you used Cool Edit. Now I know of 2 people who I can pm and bug with questions hahah.
