Piggybacking on Espritbonne's thread, are there any MEs who master voiceover demos, following this forum? I read a lot of masterful knowledge and experience with mastering music. But what about VO demos?

Just curious.

I don't really know if it's a necessity for VO demos... I've done plenty of spoken-word... Up to and including Paul Harvey. But I don't think anyone is expecting much "post-processing" on VO demo material...

John,

First of all- Thank you for the reply. I guess what I was really trying to ask, with my ambiguous questions, was has anyone had experience with mastering a VO demo in regards to spot selection and sequencing (ie. the money voice to style, and variety demonstration), etc.; all done using only eight to ten clips in a 00:01:00 - 00:01:30 demo?

Doing home-recorded spots and providing VO for a much smaller market than Espritbonne, I find myself being my own director. I attempt to provide clean, mono spots, with the occasional music bed or SFX (when requested), and leave headroom for them to tweak it. However, my goal is to provide as-close-to-airplay-quality spots, as I can achieve. Much like Espritbonne's pursuit to provide the client with a quality recording, I am trying to learn how to move to mastering/producing a demo that will highlight the best clips, catch a listener's attention and keep it, match tempos, and make the multi-clip demo have continuity. I am seeking a brain to pick. Just throwing out a hook.

Sorry if this is an ambiguous explanation too.
I do thank you for your time, in advance.
Dale
