Hi all,

I would like to produce my own audio versions of books so I can listen to them on my roadtrips, but everytime I record voice files using a headset microphone and a program like Wavepad, I get this clicking noise which I can't seem to get rid of even with noise reduction. Is there any such thing as a unidirectional mic for use with recording onto my computer?

Thanks,

Firstly, what spec is your computer/soundcard, and what quality are you recording at? If your PC is not up to it, it will introduce clicks of its own at times...

A bog standard Uni-directional dynamic mic availible from anywhere should work in your computer, if your computer has a "Line in" or Mic in... all you need to do is get the mic down to a 1/8 jack... and whack it in... It wont sound pretty tho...

I assume we are talking about just a recording, not a "quality" recording...?

If you want a little better quality, try this:

It's a more professional (though still limited) microphone that has a usb plug and a small build in preamp. Just plug it in and, install the drivers and you're all set. Still won't be super pretty though.
