I am in the process of doing some recording of my own(by myself) and I would love to be able to do some two or three part harmonies, do they make anything that I could use to accomplish that???Also, I need to clean up my lead vocal a little bit but dont have any reverb or sound effects, what should I use??? can I find what I am looking for in one unit??? I'm recording to a tascam 4 track mf-po1 and I also have a mg10/2 yamaha mixer, I will then burn to a cd( I know its not the best equipment but its a start) any help would be much appreciated. Also what would something like that cost???
Use your 4-track as a preamp - Jump to your sound card (you can probably only record two tracks at a time without upgrading). Figure out whatever connections you need and take a trip to Radio Shack.
That'll give you 16 tracks PLUS effects. For nuttin'.
Of course, you'll then be addicted to it and this forum. I can not be held responsible.
They do a variety of things including voice harmonies and doubling. Some also offer reverb, compression, de-essing, etc.
I don't own one, so I can't say anything about quality, etc. I can also tell you that it's probably not the best answer to recording vocals. Pitch processors and harmony units are better than they were ten years ago, but you might want to focus on fundamentals: good room, good mic, good preamp, good vocal technique.
