Unpossible!
Anybody want to give a quick listen. All critiques welcome, but looking especially for vocal level. This was a "guerrilla recording" and done very quickly, so it's not perfect......

BTW - It's pretty screamy, but some singing too!

Thanks in advance!

:D

Hehe, yup it's pretty screamy :D
I'd say the second vocal sounds a little flat or just too loud. The main vocal seems fine though.

Sorry that's about all I have.

Yeah, I could stand to have both the vocal tracks pulled back just a smidge. The vocals don't really seem to be competing for any sonic space against the rest of the instruments, so my guess is you can tap them down just a little bit and still not lose anything.

I don't know that I'd turn it down. For this genre, to me, it seems just about right.

Thanks again guys (looks like my previous post got deleted)

There was supposed to be two links. Here's the other one -

:D

You always get some cool tunes to mix.... The vocals on #1 could come down a bit for me - the intro scream hurt:eek:. The second one the vocals seem to sit way better (especially the loud parts as compared)....

:D:cool::D:cool:

Listened to song #2, NL.
Pretty good for this genre, very tightly played. Screamy parts sound good, but in the verses here and there the singer is a bit pitchy. Love the guitar sound, how were they recorded? Bass sounds marvelous, really raunchy and blends in well with the guitars. Recording sounds great to me.

Joe :):):):)

Sounds good. On the second one, like Joey said, the second singer is really pitchy. And I don't know if that was the band looking for, but the fretting in the bass is a little distracting. Whats the sound that comes up in the third one? A shot gun?

Yeah, it's a shotgun. :)

Yeah, there is some pitch problems, but this was done super fast. 11 songs recorded and nearly mixed in two and a half days.

I'll explain the guitars, but first let me ask this - does one track sound better than the other? (they are panned 85 % L/R)

Listened to all 3 of them now, I find song#3 the most interesting, Kind of SOD.....
I find that the quality of the mixes is good on all three them. The sound is nice and full smack in your face. I know I couldn't do it better.....;)

LOL. I meant the guitar tracks. They are recorded entirely different. One is panned Left 85% and the other right 85% in all the mixes. Same guitar on each side on all the mixes.

don't know if I hear them different, but they sure sound good. I hear a beautiful wall of sound just like I like it.

#2 is Magoo from me too!
Pitchy & should be redone in those section otherwise well done otherwise.
I quite like it without the screamo.

I really like #3. Very upbeat. The verses are my favorite part, I like the rhythm.

Mix #3, is very interesting concept for an arrangement for them.

The song sounds a little distracting the way it starts. But it does well in continuing in it's overall tone.

The mix sounds really good. The guitars sound good. The playing is pretty tight.

:)
