The only formula I know of for good vocals is 1;good singers, 2;in a good room, 3;using a good mic, 4;into good gear, 5;mixed by someone who knows what they are doing. (So far I have 3 of those 5)
I was about to start The Big Vocal mix thread when I found this one.
There are tons of other sweet things to do with vocal tracks than adding Verb and EQ top. I mean thats what everyone does for starters.
Im more looking into some experienced mixers to take us into what they do for those astonishing vocals. Yeah I know - you need a good preamp, mic and vocalist. Well I happen to have all 3 but there is still much for me to learn about vocal mixing/processing. With the pros thats allmost considered a full time job, recording and EFX/mixing vocals.
Hopefully some of the pros will share a secret or two in here.
