What can I say? Playing, as always, is just impeccable.

I'm listening on computer speakers, so I won't comment on the mix, except to say it sounds great even on computer speakers. :)

Nice stuff. I was, however, misled by the title and was hoping to hear some vocals. You either gotta start singing, or you gotta find a singer. I can't even imagine how good your stuff would be with vocals.

Great job, Jeff.

Smooth as butter Jeff.Your mixing skills have always been pretty good but this mix seems to be going into new territory for you.Im playing it back REALLY loud and it's in my face but it still holds the intimate quality of the music.....I've heard this one before on your nowhereradio site.....it's a good one......the sonics of this mix are great.....I have a lot of those mix books myself and they havent helped me much.LOL......maybe I need to buy the one you posted.LOL.Good job on the tune and the mix.

straight off of page 4!

just wanted to add that I thought this was really excellent in every way!! Those samples sound very similar to the first song off the Steve Vai Cd ''The Ultra Zone.' As a matter of fact, I wonder if it could be the same sample CD..

great tunes man! I'll hold off on mix comments because these Bose make everything sound strange..

definitely a keeper!

Just got home a little bit ago from looking for tornados

Here are some pics if anybody is interested… I was a little to far north of this storm from where there was an actual tornado spotted.. darn :( cant wait until I can get doppler in my car :)

I have such a blast looking for those puppies. I knew we were gonna have some nasty weather when I saw some mammatus clouds hanging from the sky around noon :)

Well… back to the music :)

dachay2tnr

thanks for your comments… maybe we could do some beachboy harmonies sometime with the guitars going :) that would be cool :)
I always dig your tunes as well… your can put together some great harmonies.

Kramer

.. its good to heard that my mixes are sounding a little bit better.. like I said.. ive been reading a bunch on the right way to do things and lots of experimenting. Really appreciate the listen!

Smellyfuzz

Hey thanks for the listen smellyfuzz … funny name you have there :)

B.SABBATH

That’s funny you grabbed this off the 4th page… ive been so busy I forgot I still had this thread roaming around :) thanks for fetching and listening to it.
Its funny that you mention steve vais samples because I was thinking the exact same thing, but when I went through all the samples I couldn’t find the same chick that is one his cd… but I do notice a few of the samples on my cd on a couple other records… so it is a bit weird how everybody can tap into the same samples to make their tunes.
I don’t know if you’ve listned to deep forest before but those 2 guys can really mix samples very well..
Have you ever heard this tune by deep forest
Definitely one of my favorite tunes :)

Very nice chops and a great arrangement make this one excellent! :) I love the synth stuff in there. It is used to very good effect.

And those vocals are totally cool. Reminds me of a vocalist that Peter Gabriel has used on several of his tunes (I can't remember his name)

Very cool! :D

I'm an ass for missing this one. (and for a lot of other reasons).

But this is OUTSTANDING work.

^^^Yeah but Chris your a good guy for bringing this to the front page where people like me who can only come here twice a week can see it.

Damn fine work, nice arranging-very lush sound-acoustics are played with a sure hand and sound very good. Tasteful keyboard use as well. Sounds excellent! I would have liked to hear a bass (fretless?)-holding down the bottom-but can't have everything. This would be great documentary music-hope that doesn't come off like an insult.

Jeff,

Sorry dude, late as usual. ( to many gigs this time of year)

Great compositional, improvisational & mixing skills melded into a fine work of art, performed with excellent articulation and emotion!

Not one critique worth mentioning (very "un flat-9-ish)

You are a fine musician on many levels!

Ralph

wow... great song. It sounds so freakin clean and open... so pure... the writing and performance of the acoustic parts was very outstanding... amazing tones, amazing song... i personally like the "fake drum" sounds you have in the background... i like the idea at least with the drum machine... I think a BETTER sound with the same beat and idea would make it better... but overall it's great...

the title of the song is good too... this song takes me places... NATURE... peace, storm, sun... it stirs up lots of emotions in me...
I saved this one and I will listen to it again...
