it only comes with Producer

which version have you got?

Do you have Producer or Studio? I found it's only in Producer. It is listed in the help section, under V-vocal. And there is a video on Sonars site showing some basic uses.

Then you should just be able to right click on a vocal track that's loaded, and see V-vocal as an option...about 2/3 of the way down the list. I still don't know how to use it, as I haven't dinked with it much yet.

Oh , ok there it is. Wow looks complex! I looked in the manual but under vocals it only has vocal track, removing! I hate manuals. Great advise, I'll go to web and look at tutorial. :)
Thanks!

Have you looked at the big 600 page PDF manual you get with the software? I'm sure it's in there but I skipped it because I've only got Studio...

608 pages to be exact. Yes but it only listed vocal track ,removing page 330. I have found it with everyones help.I would never have looked there! Seems to be rather complex at first. I'll give it a whack.

Let me know if you figure out how to work it.... :D
I've messed with it before, but it didn't seem to do anything to my voice. I'm not sure if it's automatic or if you have to go in and edit each mistake. I watched the video, and they made it seem so easy, that even I could work it, but alas, I gave up after a few minutes.

It has an automatic feature, but I think it works best for carefully fixing individual mistakes here and there. I've used it to pretty good success with small fixes like that. I also like to cut my vocal track into a small sections that I want to fix rather than creating a V-Vocal clip out of one large one.

Dogman, just go in there and drag a single note over to a different note and check out the difference. Manual fixes are pretty easy. Often all you need to do is nudge it over just a bit and it helps alot. Just be careful with the transitions between notes. Sometimes you've got to redraw them or at least tweak them a little to get it to sound natural after you nudge a note into key.

Cool man....I was just playing with it yesteday after this thread started, and I selected the whole vocal, just to see what happened, but then probably bypassed it, as nothing changed. I really don't sing well enough to even worry about it, but I got toys, so I will play with them..... :D

Is the Roland V-Vocal plugin worth the price of an upgrade from Sonar Studio 4? It seems to be the only thing I can see have a use for at the moment. I use my Sony SoundForge 7 pitch shift to adjust individual notes when I go a few cents flat or sharp. But the demo on the Roland plugin really looks like it could be useful in cleaning up phrasing etc. I guess I need some incentive to part with $250 for the upgrade.

Guys...do u know if its possible to use the Roland V-Vocal plugin as a VST in Cubase? because i have both sonar and cubase, but i dominantly use cubase. and i dont want to use sonar just for the sake of v-vocal. so is it possible?

Well, it's not a separate VST plugin. It is integrated into SONAR. So I'm gonna say....nope. :D

The plugins that come with Sonar, can only be used in Sonar.
I believe Autotune and Melodyne(?) do the same thing.

can i get that v-vocal in sonar 4 PE somehow or something like it?

Yeah, you can get something like it. Autotune or Melodyne.

Autotune will work within Sonar. Melodyne is a standalone program that requires you to export the track, adjust it, and reimport it to Sonar.

I believe both programs have demo versions available - although it would probably be cheaper to simply upgrade to Sonar 5.

Dogman, I have played around with it a bit.Its kind of cool if the vocals are not off too much. There is a tool Pitch, vibrato and more. Go th the tutorial at cakewalk, thats what I did. It helped...you dont want to learn from me telling you....trust me. :p

You got a 608 page PDF? I can't find that. I have a 608 page paper manual.

V-Vocal is explained (poorly in my opinion) on page 391.

All these graphical tuning stuff are way too time-consuming. I suggest you buy a copy of Melodyne. You will LOVE it. i use it all the time..to create vocal harmonies..fix up the tune(obviously) and so many other stuff. and its soooooooo much easier to use. you will never turn back to antares or v-vocal.
