Vocal removal if I have THESE... ( CHECK! )

Good day guys! I'm new here! Hope getting some answers.

Well, I want to ask a question regarding Vocal Removal [ complete or close ], yup, I know just touching a button isn't possible in this stage yet.

IF :
I have the pure vocal SECTION of a song.
I have the original version of it.

Is it possible to use any method to remove vocal like inverting the phase to cancel the center channel??

And also
IF :
I have the pure music SECTION of a song.
I have the original version of it.

Is it possible to use any ways to remove music of that song?

And even not complete removal, is it possible? I found no programs removing the LEFT AND RIGHT Channels but the CENTER channels only.

I'd be grateful if there're guides and detailed answers as I'm a newbie~ heh

You posted this in the CE-pro forum. If I understood you right (I'm Dutch) you don't know how to remove the left or right channel from a stereo mix. What do you mean with center channel? In fact, a stereo mix has got no more than two channels, left & right. Taking away the things that are panned between those two can be seen as removing a 'center' channel.

Anyway, with Cool Edit Pro, just open your stereo file, click on 'convert file type', click 'mono' and set 100% left, 0% right to remove the right channel, and vice versa.

I can't tell you how to work with phases with CE.

And if I have the vocal version and the original version [ with music and vocal ] of a song. Is it possible to get the music only?
 
If you have the original tracks for the song, then it's easy to dump the vocal track, and you're left with the song minus the vocal. However, it's very difficult to get your hands on the orginal tracks for a song. What you get commercially is the stereo (2 channel) mixdown of the song. It's usually impossible to remove the vocals from a stereo mixdown, because the vocals and everything else is blended together. If you try removing the vocal frequencies, you'll remove the frequencies of everything else that shares those frequencies - the guitars, for instance, the top end of the bass, a lot of the keyboards, backing vocals - you name it.

In other words, the short answer to your question is: no.

What do you mean exactly by the 'pure vocal version'. I have no idea what you're talking about. What makes it so pure? Version? Which version?

you could try to change the phase of this track and paste it very precisely at the stereo mix. but where the ## did you get this vocal-track from?
 
Vocal removers work, sort of, because most people put the vocal part dead center in the mix. IIRC , you invert the right channel, and mix it with the left. Yo uinvert the left channel, and mix it with the right. Since the only thing that appears equally on both tracks is the vocal, it removes the vocal. Sort of. Course I'm on some really crazy allegery meds right now, so I could be off....But if you have the original vocal track, and invertit, you could add it to both sides and effectivly remove the vocals. Sort of. I think I need to go back to sleep
 
Well, if he's got the original vocal track, why not put the whole thing into a multitrack editor (Cool Edit, for example :)), and remove the vocal track?

Well, don't ask the reasons why I learn it. I did not have the vocal track full length, only a portion. Regardless of how long it is. I am trying to remove music/vocal from the original sound track.

I think it is impossible in some pop musics, but in Eurobeat ones. It CAN be done, at least I think so. Well, think of it. Eurobeat Intro is the same as the end, and the end has the exact frequency of the intro but with some extra vocal track on it.

So, I'm working on bring these things up.

For other portion of vocal track where I obtain, I got from some famous remix companies [ buy em ].
 
I only read about 10% of your posts because my attention span is very low, but if you have a solo vocal track, and you're trying to remove the same vocal track from a mix, just use CE's noise reduction and set the precision very high.

Hey cat-eggs~~~ I guess your path is quite right! But there's still some little flaws. Somehow the stuffs came out rather weird sound. It sounds like VERY artificial..... how to say.. like some laser guns behind..... behind pipes... etc ..........
I'm testing it with some songs... came in the same effect. But I believe your path is correct, can you further guide me more? Thanks!
 
I guess the artificial effects are a by-product of noise reduction? It seems can't be removed... thats sad. Please try to offer other ways or improvements... Thank you
 
yeah, if you processed the mix, or if frequencies in the rest of the mix are stepping on the vocals, the noise reduction can only come so close.

there isn't any way to just scratch the vocals and end up with a pristine mix, without the tracks.

You mean the tracks, the very original ones that can't be bought? ( something like source of a program ).
 
exactly like source code. when a person "compiles" his/her tracks, the source components can't be precisely manipulated. (from my experience, anyway)
